Dear Anne,
Graduation was today. I'm glad my SP is finally gone forever. I wish him luck, I really do, both in his career and his marriage.
I am currently gripped by the fear of Step 1, as all medical students at one point are. It's scary as shit.

Dear Anne,
I sang in front of a crowd of maybe 20 people today. I was scared shitless. And I rocked it out.
I've been listening to new albums I got just today -- Nicole Atkins and Duffy. Amazing, absolutely amazing. Such gifted singers and songwriters. Every single song is breathtaking. There are so few albums that can accomplish that.
I am feeling such bliss right now. There is only one thing that saves me, and there is only one thing that makes me absolutely joyful: music. Music is the only conversation worth having. Music is my savior.
Currently playing: "Mercy" by Duffy (album: Rockferry)
There is a modeling agency interested in me. I don't know yet whether I will pursue this.

Dear Anne,
I have been home for just over 1 week now. It is nice, at times, to be back where I grew up, with my family. I was reminded, however, by my parent's rather irritating insistence that I go to bed at a specific time and am only allowed a certain number of hours watching television, that I can never live here, for their controlling nature is just overwhelming. My father refuses to let me drive, or even walk out of the house, literally, without him following. He watched me get the mail from the end of the driveway. My mother literally commanded me to give her a kiss before bed and refused to accept no for an answer. They both forced me to pray multiple times, while my brother watched laughing. How is that pious? It's an insult to their religion! And they are too stupid to realize it.
It is enough to drive someone mad...and I do believe, that a few years ago, it did exactly that. I will now be counting down the days before I can get out of this...this....strange, other universe that I cannot believe I grew up in!
